How the Summary tab totals a takeoff, and how markup and tax behave on screen vs. on exports.
Summary lists every item with its quantity, unit, unit price, and line total, then the project totals: Subtotal, Markup, Tax, and Grand total. Change a quantity's price in the Items tab and the Summary follows.
Set your markup percentage in the Summary. Markup is part of your internal math: it shows on screen while you work, but it is never printed as a line on exports. On PDF and CSV exports the markup is folded into the printed Subtotal, tax is calculated on that subtotal, and the grand total matches your on-screen number — your customer sees clean totals, never your markup.
Set the tax rate (%) in the Summary. Tax is calculated on the subtotal including markup, on screen and on exports alike.
Quantities print with spelled-out units — "340.59 Square Feet", "52.67 Linear Feet", "12 Each" — and you can switch the length display format (Inches Only, Feet + Inches, mm, cm + mm, m + cm + mm) from the units selector; the choice is remembered on your device.
